Jerry Lamothe
Jerry is the hottest Director/Actor coming out of New York. Amour Infinity, which he wrote, directed, and played the lead role, was the buzz at the 2000 Urban World film festival. The feature-length film attracted crowds at the five-day festival with a sold-out premiere that Urban World decided to have a second showing on the final day of the festival.
After all the acclaim from Urban World, Amour Infinity was invited to the International Chicago Film Festival and was picked up by Black Cinema Café on a five-city tour. The film received the highest rating among all the films featured within the three-year run of Black Cinema Café.
Amour Infinity was invited to the 2000 Jamerican Film Festival. Jerry's film was the hit of the festival. He walked away with the award for the best feature film at the festival. Amour Infinity was also invited to the Hollywood Black Film Festival 2001. There he walked away with the People's Choice Award. Jerry has also been nominated for the Melvin Van Peebles Maverick Award for emerging filmmaker!
Jerry was born and raised in East Flatbush Brooklyn. At the age of 14, he started to develop his writing skills through rhyming and poetry. Jerry quickly became infatuated with the big screen and became involved in his high school theater program. On stage, he realized his true passion, acting.
As an actor, Jerry has appeared on "The Sopranos", Shaft Returns, Backlash and Stoop. In Amour Infinity, he plays the lead role Derek, who is caught between choosing his current love and his family. As Derek, Jerry shows his dramatic, sensitive acting ability.
Jerry also co-wrote and was the associate producer for the upcoming film Higher Ed starring Praz, Hill Harper, and Aries Spears.
Jerry is currently in the process of completing another dramatic screenplay called, "From the Outside Looking In." In the future, it is Jerry's desire to stimulate the other spectrum of people emotions by writing a comedy, while he continues his thriving acting career.
